TD Garden Announces Ryan Adams as 2026 House Artist
Arena Debuts Mural Celebrating Massachusetts 250 in The Hub on Causeway
Boston, MA (June 10, 2026) – TD Garden, in collaboration with TD Bank U.S., is thrilled to announce Ryan Adams as the 2026 TD Garden House Artist.
Launched in January 2023, the TD Garden House Artist initiative celebrates and empowers local artists from underrepresented New England communities. As part of Access the Arts, powered by TD, it strives to broaden access to arts and live entertainment. With TD Garden’s naming rights extended through 2045, TD has pledged over $15 million to community programming, reinforcing its commitment to cultural enrichment and support.
Ryan Adams is a Portland, Maine–based painter and muralist whose roots in traditional graffiti have evolved into a diverse practice encompassing large-scale murals, hand-painted signage, and studio work. His signature “gem” style deconstructs letterforms into geometric shapes layered with shadows and highlights, creating a sense of depth, movement, and visual complexity. Known for bold color palettes and thoughtful compositions, Adams often incorporates text and messaging into his work. These statements may be literal or symbolic, frequently addressing social and cultural themes. While his studio practice explores abstraction, form, and visual experimentation, it remains grounded in his longstanding fascination with lettering and typographic structures.
“We are excited to welcome Ryan Adams as our 2026 TD Garden House Artist,” said Glen Thornborough, President of TD Garden and EVP & COO of the Boston Bruins. “As we celebrate Massachusetts 250, this mural offers a bold, contemporary tribute to the Commonwealth’s history and enduring spirit. Positioned at the front entrance of TD Garden in The Hub on Causeway, the artwork will engage not only our guests, but the millions of visitors and commuters experiencing Boston throughout the year.”
This year’s theme, “Massachusetts 250,” celebrates the Commonwealth’s role in shaping the nation and marks 250 years of history, innovation, and cultural impact. Ryan Adams’ mural honors this milestone through his signature use of bold typography, geometric forms, and vibrant color. Inspired by Massachusetts’ spirit and enduring legacy, the work serves as a contemporary tribute to the people, ideas, and communities that continue to shape its future.
“It’s an honor to be part of the Massachusetts 250 celebration through this mural at TD Garden,” said Ryan Adams, 2026 TD Garden House Artist. “I hope the piece brings a sense of joy, connection, and pride to everyone who experiences it, while reflecting the history, resilience, and spirit that continues to shape Massachusetts today.”
“At TD, we’re proud to support initiatives that bring people together and reflect the communities we serve,” said Sheryl McQuade, Regional President, Metro New England, TD Bank U.S. “The TD Garden House Artist program is a powerful example of that commitment, expanding access to the arts while giving talented local artists like Ryan a platform to tell meaningful stories. As we mark Massachusetts 250, this year’s mural is a vibrant tribute to the people, history and creativity that continue to shape our region.”
