TD Garden Celebrates 30 Years

BOSTON, MA (09.16.2025) — For three decades, TD Garden has stood at the heart of Boston’s West End—an engine of energy, culture and community. The iconic “Boston Garden” was reimagined, rebuilt, and reopened on September 30, 1995, with a sold-out R.E.M. concert. Since opening its doors on September 30, 1995, TD Garden has been the stage for the city’s most iconic memories: championship banners to the rafters, legendary performances, and generations of fans coming together to celebrate history in the making. As the proud home of the Original Six Boston Bruins and the 18-time World Champion Boston Celtics, TD Garden is where Boston’s greatest teams and their fans unite in unforgettable moments of triumph and tradition.

To celebrate, TD Garden launched today the Golden Birthday Sweepstakes presented by TD Bank to give 30 lucky fans $300 Garden Gold Gift Cards, and three grand prize winners the experience of a lifetime at TD Garden.

Over the past 30 years, the Jacobs Family and Delaware North have invested more than $1 billion to transform TD Garden from a premier sports and entertainment venue into a world-class destination for culture, community, and commerce. The investment in The Hub on Causeway—the mixed-use development surrounding TD Garden, created in partnership with BXP—has redefined the West End, creating thousands of jobs, vibrant public spaces, and year-round economic activity that continues to benefit the entire city.

“Over the past three decades, TD Garden has evolved from a beloved local arena into a world-class destination for sports and entertainment,” said Charlie Jacobs, CEO of Delaware North and Alternate Governor for the Boston Bruins. “This transformation is a testament to the enduring partnerships we’ve built—with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the City of Boston, the Boston Celtics, TD Bank and BXP – and to the relentless dedication of the incredible team members who bring this arena to life night after night. Together, we’ve redefined the fan experience, set new standards for innovation, and ensured that TD Garden remains a cornerstone of this city’s vibrant culture and community.”

“TD Garden is more than a venue—it’s a place where joy, passion and connection come to life,” said Glen Thornborough, president of TD Garden and COO of the Boston Bruins. “From championship games to sold-out concerts and community events, the diversity of experiences we offer reflects our deep commitment to every fan who walks through our doors. As we look to the future, we remain focused on innovation, inclusivity, and delivering world-class moments that continue to define Boston’s legacy in sports and entertainment.”
